Job summary

Pathways Health Management is seeking a Handyperson / Maintenance Officer for an Aged Care Home in Killara, NSW. This permanent part-time role is 3 days a week, 9am-5pm, focused on hands-on maintenance and administrative tasks to support residents and staff.

The successful candidate will perform handyman tasks, coordinate with contractors, maintain records, and help ensure compliance with Aged Care Standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in aged care settings.
• 1–2 years of aged care experience.
• Awareness of regulatory compliance in aged care.
• Working knowledge of aged care regulations.
• Good communication and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate deliveries with contractors and suppliers.
• Manage inventory for the facility.
• Perform handyman tasks (lighting, furniture, minor repairs).
• Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance needs.
• Report status of jobs, repairs and inventory to Executive Manager.
• Request quotes for external trades and coordinate approved work.
• Maintain paperwork complying with Aged Care Standards.

Handyperson / Maintenance Officer - Aged Care Home

Pathways Residences is a luxury Aged Care provider across Sydney. We are seeking a friendly Handyperson/Maintenance Officer to join our team in Killara NSW 2071 on a Permanent Part-Time basis -3 days a week between Monday -Friday, ideally 9AM - 5PM.

About the role

You will be responsible for the daily upkeep of the facility. The position offers a diverse range of responsibilities, including both administrative tasks and hands-on maintenance work. Some examples include:

• Coordinating deliveries with contractors and suppliers
• Responsible for certain inventory
• Perform a variety of handyman tasks (changing light bulbs, fixing broken furniture, addressing minor repairs and replacements)
• Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance needs
• Collaborate with other departments and report to the Executive Manager the current status of jobs, repairs, inventory etc
• Requesting quotes of external trade work, coordinating approved external trade work
• Maintaining good paperwork that complies with Aged Care Standards

About you

• Experience working in aged care
• Minimum 1-2 years of aged care experience is required
• Demonstrated experience in handyman/trade/maintenance work
• Minimum 1-2 years of handyman/trade/maintenance experience is required
• Awareness of regulations and the importance of compliance
• Working knowledge of aged care regulations is required
• Good communication and problem-solving skills

• Must have current police check, COVID vaccine and 100 points of ID
• Australian work rights are required for this position

$30.00 per hour (negotiable upon experience) + superannuation
