Job summary

Kilner’s Engineering, based in Brisbane, is seeking Trades Assistants to join our busy Morningside workshop. This practical role supports tradespeople across fabrication, loading, assembly, packaging, and dispatch, with opportunities to develop hands-on workshop skills.

You’ll work in a safety-conscious environment, reading simple drawings and operating workshop equipment, with potential forklift duties. Immediate start and stable permanent full-time employment offered.

Qualifications

• Experience in fabrication, manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and practical skills.
• Able to read technical drawings, dimensions and tolerances.
• Good attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Reliable and comfortable working independently or within a team.
• Forklift licence advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist tradespeople with fabrication, manufacturing and workshop activities.
• Operate workshop equipment, load and unload machinery under supervision.
• Prepare parts for fabrication, assembly, powdercoating and the next stage of production.
• Assemble components and finished products.
• Pack and prepare components and finished products for dispatch.
• Receive and organise materials and inventory.
• Carry out basic machinery and equipment maintenance.
• Follow Quality Management System and Workplace Health & Safety procedures.
