Job summary

Unitywater is seeking a Treatment Plant Assistant Operator to support safe and reliable operation of wastewater and recycled water plants across Kawana, Landsborough and Maleny. This temporary role runs through August 2027 and offers practical experience within the water industry.

You will work with experienced operators, assist with daily plant operations, monitor SCADA, collect samples, perform routine analyses and contribute to reporting. Emphasis on safety, teamwork and on-site housekeeping.

Qualifications

• A Certificate III in Wastewater Treatment is desirable.
• A current C Class Driver's Licence.
• Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office, and experience using corporate business systems (desirable).
• A proactive approach to safety and teamwork.
• A willingness to learn and contribute to a supportive team with a strong, positive culture.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily plant operations and maintenance, monitor performance using SCADA, collect samples, undertake routine analysis and support basic troubleshooting, data entry and reporting.
• Help maintain clean, safe and well-presented sites through general housekeeping and grounds maintenance.
