Job summary

ARTC in Port Augusta seeks safety‑focused individuals to join the Flashbutt Welding team. The role is hands‑on, physically demanding and involves handling long welded rail lengths, operating cranes and grinding and welding tasks.

You will contribute to rail maintenance, travel intrastate for planned track work up to 2–4 weeks per year, and develop practical skills in rail operations while working with a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Must have safety focus and willingness to learn.
• Current driver’s licence and ability to drive a manual vehicle.
• White Card (Construction Industry Induction).
• Strong commitment to Workplace Health and Safety.
• Good written and verbal communication; team player.

Responsibilities

• Assist with production and handling of long welded rail lengths used in re-railing and track maintenance.
• Operate machinery and gantry cranes; assist with grinding and welding activities.
• Move rail, complete inspections and support the broader team to maintain high safety and quality standards.
• Contribute to safe, efficient depot operations and rail handling tasks.
