Job summary

Trinity Petroleum Services in Cairns seeks an experienced IT Support Officer to keep our hardware, software and networks running smoothly across Cairns sites. You’ll provide hands-on IT support and travel to nearby regions as required.

Reporting to the Head of IT, you’ll manage Windows Server and 365, AD, Exchange, POS and pump systems, perform backups, security checks and incident response, and contribute to ongoing technology improvements.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years’ experience in a similar IT support role.
• Experience providing POS support, ideally in a multi-site/retail environment.
• Experience with Windows Server administration.
• Experience with Microsoft 365 administration and maintenance.
• Understanding of network routing, switching and security.
• Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) or similar qualifications would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide responsive IT support to users across the business, from initial helpdesk request through to resolution.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, mobile and telephony issues.
• Install, configure and maintain Windows operating systems and business applications.
• Support and administer Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Group Policy and Exchange.
• Assist with server administration, network maintenance and routing/switching configuration.
• Support, maintain and configure POS and pump systems across the business.
• Manage IT assets, user access, devices and mobile phone fleet requirements.
• Monitor and maintain backups, antivirus, email and security systems.
• Support the implementation and testing of vendor enhancements and technology improvements.
• Maintain IT security standards and ensure systems are secured.
• Keep accurate IT records, asset registers and user information up to date.
• Assist with VOIP system administration and other technology projects as required.
• Research and recommend technology solutions that meet business needs.
• Develop and maintain IT scripts and documentation.
• Provide after-hours and weekend support on a rotating basis, approx one week in every four.
