Job summary

Our Client in Sydney is seeking an experienced Leading Hand to join the Wakehurst Parkway Project on a temporary/casual basis. You will lead crews on site, coordinate daily activities and ensure safety and quality across the works.

The role requires hands-on leadership with the ability to do on-site tasks, read plans, manage labour and liaise with supervisors. Competitive hourly rate and hours on offer.

Qualifications

• Experience leading site crews on civil construction projects.
• Ability to read site plans and interpret instructions.
• Strong communication and people-management skills.
• Current Australian Driver’s Licence and Construction White Card.
• Full Australian working rights.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate a small site crew to achieve daily targets.
• Allocate tasks and provide clear direction to workers.
• Assist supervisors with site activity coordination.
• Monitor productivity, quality and safety on site.
• Ensure works comply with project requirements and timelines.
• Provide hands-on support with civil activities as needed.
• Coordinate labour, plant, materials and equipment.
• Conduct pre-starts and toolbox talks.
• Identify hazards and report delays or issues.
• Maintain open communication between workers and supervision.
• Promote a positive, safety-focused work culture.
