Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum Certificate III in Hairdressing or an equivalent relevant qualification.
• At least two years of full-time relevant work experience as a Hairdresser.
• Proven experience in hair cutting, styling, colouring, highlighting, bleaching and chemical hair treatments.

Responsibilities

• Consult with clients to understand their hairdressing needs, preferences and desired hairstyles.
• Provide professional advice on suitable hairstyles, hair treatments and hair care products.
• Shampoo, condition and treat clients' hair and scalps using appropriate products and techniques.
• Cut, trim and shape hair using scissors, clippers, razors and other professional hairdressing tools.
• Perform hair colouring services, including tinting, bleaching, highlighting and colour correction.
• Carry out hair straightening, curling and permanent waving using appropriate chemical treatments and techniques.
• Assess hair and scalp conditions and recommend suitable treatments and care routines.
• Style hair using blow-drying, setting, braiding, hair extensions and other professional styling techniques.
• Trim and groom beards and moustaches as required.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of workstations, tools and equipment in accordance with salon health and safety standards.
• Manage client appointments, maintain accurate service records and process payments.
• Recommend suitable hair care products and provide clients with advice on maintaining healthy hair.
• Stay updated with current hairdressing trends, techniques and industry developments.
