Job summary

Qube Ports at Dampier is seeking reliable individuals for shift work to load and discharge general and bulk cargo, operate port machinery, and perform shipboard and wharf duties along with basic clerical tasks. You must be prepared for an irregular shift pattern with 24/7 availability.

You must hold a full manual driver’s licence, high-risk licences (forklift, dogging, crane) are highly regarded, and a trade qualification is also highly regarded.

Qualifications

• Full Manual driver’s licence required.
• High Risk License in Forklift, Dogging, Crane (highly regarded).
• Trade Qualification (highly regarded).
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with a variety of people.
• Demonstrated safety behaviours and experience.
• Ability to work autonomously using proactive approach to task resolution.
• Ability to be flexible and adaptable to work in a demanding environment.

Responsibilities

• Load and discharge general and bulk cargoes.
• Operate port machinery and equipment as trained.

Job description

We are looking for individuals seeking shift work at Port of Dampier. Specific duties for this role will include loading and discharging general and bulk cargoes, operating machinery, shipboard and wharf duties and basic clerical tasks. These operations specialise in loading and discharging general and bulk cargoes. Commodities handled include motor vehicles, machinery, steel products, containers, project cargo and bulk cargo.

The successful applicant will need to be prepared to work an irregular shift pattern with 24/7 availability and no set roster.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Full Manual driver’s licence required
• High Risk License in Forklift, Dogging, Crane (highly regarded)
• Trade Qualification (highly regarded)
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with a variety of people
• Demonstrated safety behaviours and experience
