Job summary

See Differently with the Royal Society of the Blind seeks a Guide Dog Mobility Instructor to train dogs and support clients in mobility. You will work with a skilled Guide Dog Services team to ensure high standards and compassionate client care.

About the Role

We’re looking for a passionate and dedicated Guide Dog Mobility Instructor to join our highly skilled Guide Dog Services team. This is a unique opportunity to combine your expertise in guide dog mobility, dog training, and client support to make a lasting difference in the lives of people who are blind or have low vision. Reporting to the Lead Guide Dog Mobility Instructor, you will play a key role in maintaining the high standards of See Differently’s Guide Dog Service and the International Guide Dog Federation.

Key Responsibilities

Assess, train, and develop guide dogs through a comprehensive training program.
Assess, select, and train clients in all aspects of guide dog mobility.
Deliver high-quality client training, support, supervision, and aftercare services.
Maintain accurate records and contribute to reporting and administration requirements.
Support and mentor team members while contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.
Represent See Differently at community, education, and promotional events.

You’ll bring

Successful qualification as a Guide Dog Mobility Instructor at an IGDF accredited Guide Dog School.

Outstanding communication and relationship-building skills.

A valid driver’s licence and the ability to meet relevant screening and clearance requirements.
