Job summary

Guide Dogs Queensland is seeking a Community Fundraising Coordinator to join our team on a full-time parental leave contract, based at our Bald Hills campus. You’ll coordinate school and community engagement activities, Youth Ambassador Program and our Collection Dogs program while building partnerships with students, educators and volunteers across Queensland.

You’ll be a warm, credible communicator with strong planning and data skills, comfortable juggling multiple programs and priorities, and

Qualifications

• At least 2 years’ experience in community fundraising, campaigns, community engagement, education, events or related role.
• Strong presentation and facilitation skills with the confidence to engage children and young people across age groups.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate programs, projects and events while managing competing priorities and deadlines.
• Strong relationship-building skills and the judgement to represent an established, trusted brand.
• Confidence using CRM systems and maintaining accurate data (Salesforce experience highly regarded).
• A current driver’s licence and confidence driving a GDQ pool vehicle to schools and community events.
• Willingness to work occasional weekends (5–10 events annually) and outside standard hours for community events.
• Willingness to handle and present alongside dogs.

Guide Dogs Queensland is seeking a Community Fundraising Coordinator to join our team in a full-time capacity on a 12-month parental leave contract, based at our stunning green campus in Bald Hills.

At Guide Dogs Queensland, community is at the heart of what we do. Our Community Fundraising team connects with supporters of all ages, creating meaningful experiences that inspire generosity, strengthen relationships and help make our life‑changing work possible.

Reporting to the Community Fundraising Specialist and working alongside a collaborative and supportive team, you’ll help bring our community fundraising programs to life across Queensland. This is a hands‑on position coordinating school and community engagement activities, our Youth Ambassador Program and our Collection Dogs program, while contributing to projects that strengthen supporter experiences and our fundraising outcomes.

What could a day look like for you in this role?

• No two days will look quite the same. You could be:

• Helping plan and coordinate community fundraising campaigns and activities.

• Contributing ideas to the fundraising calendar and coordinate volunteers, materials and event logistics.

• Visiting schools and early learning centres to deliver engaging educational presentations and Guide Dog demonstrations.

• Coordinating our Youth Ambassador Program and building positive relationships with students, educators, schools and community groups.

• Representing Guide Dogs Queensland at school visits, community events and fundraising activities, creating positive and memorable experiences for the people you meet.

• Overseeing the Collection Dogs program from a broader program and performance perspective, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.

• Working closely with our passionate volunteers and internal colleagues across our Warehouse, Corporate Partnerships, Access and Advocacy and the broader organisation.

• Contributing to projects that strengthen our community fundraising programs and improve the supporter journey.

• Maintaining accurate supporter and activity data within our CRM.

About You

You’re a warm, credible, and confident communicator who genuinely enjoys connecting with people - particularly children and young people.

You know how to read a room, adapt your communication style and make people feel engaged and included, whether you’re speaking with a group of students, an educator, volunteer, supporter, member of the public, fundraiser or colleague.

You’re organised, proactive and comfortable juggling different programs, relationships, and priorities. Most importantly, you understand the privilege and responsibility that comes with representing a trusted organisation in the community.

You’ll ideally bring:

• At least 2 years’ experience in community fundraising, campaigns, community engagement, education, events or a related role, ideally within a not‑for‑profit environment.

• Strong presentation and facilitation skills, with the confidence to engage children and young people across different age groups.

• Demonstrated ability to coordinate programs, projects and events while managing competing priorities and deadlines.
