Job summary

Opera Bar on Sydney Harbour is seeking a Guest Experience Officer to join our summer team. You’ll roam the floor, chat with guests, and ensure everyone has an unforgettable experience with our iconic Harbour views.

Ideal candidates bring hospitality experience, a warm personality, and a current NSW RSA. The role involves busy shifts across a vibrant team in a world-class venue.

Qualifications

• Hospitality or front-of-house experience is ideal.
• Genuine love of talking to people and making others feel welcome.
• Ability to move around the venue and assist guests on the floor.
• Hold a current NSW RSA certification.
• Able to work across busy, high-volume shifts.

Are you a people person who could chat to absolutely anyone? Love Sydney, hospitality and making someone’s day? This could be the role for you.
With Opera Bar reopening this October, we’re building our team for an incredible summer on Sydney Harbour and we’re looking for Guest Experience Officers to join us.
This is a little different from your typical hospitality role.
Our Guest Experience Officers are the all-rounders and personality of the floor. You’ll move throughout the venue, chatting with guests, helping people find exactly what they need and making sure everyone who walks into Opera Bar has an amazing experience.
One minute you might be welcoming tourists visiting Sydney for the first time, the next you’re taking an order on one of our crew phones, recommending another round, helping a table celebrate a special occasion or simply having a great conversation with someone enjoying one of the best views in the city.

What you’ll be doing You’ll be:

• Welcoming guests and creating a brilliant first impression
• Chatting with locals, tourists and visitors from all over the world
• Taking food and drink orders directly from the floor using our crew phones
• Upselling and making recommendations in a genuine, natural way
• Helping guests navigate the venue and answering questions
• Spotting opportunities to make someone’s experience even better
• Supporting the wider floor, bar and service teams wherever needed
• Bringing energy, personality and good vibes to every shift

This is a true all-rounder role, so we’re looking for people who notice what needs doing and jump in.

Who are we looking for? Experience in hospitality, tourism, hotels, events, retail or customer service is great — but personality is huge for this role.
