Job summary

Volatus Aviation Services, based near Brisbane Airport, is seeking a qualified mechanic to join our GSE team. You'll perform diagnosis, fault finding, servicing and repair of ground support equipment in a small, friendly team.

Candidates should be trade-qualified (mechanic, automotive electrician or similar), have at least 2 years experience, hold a current driver's licence, and be able to obtain ASIC and ADA. TIG/MIG welding is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Trade Certificate is required.
• Must be able to obtain ASIC and ADA.
• Driver's license required.
• Trade-qualified mechanic or similar with GSE experience.

Responsibilities

• Service and repair GSE equipment (tow tugs, GPU units, AC units, Lav and Water carts, light vehicles, stairs, luggage barrows, etc.).
• Diagnose faults, perform mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance.
• Work with a small team, adhere to safety and environmental policies.
• Support customers with service needs and follow instructions.

Job description

We are looking for a qualified mechanic to join our GSE team here at Brisbane Airport. We are looking for someone eager to do something different everyday within a small team.

About you

• Trade qualified Mechanic, Automotive Electrician, Light Plant Mechanic or similar
• Experienced in diagnosis and fault finding in the mechanical assessment of machinery for repair, maintenance and service in the field.
• Demonstrated skills in understanding customer support requirements.
• Ability to work unsupervised and follow instructions
• Team player who will adhere to and promote the Company's Values & Behaviours
• Conduct all duties adhering to relevant safety and environmental policies ensuring a safe work place
• Self motivated and can think out side of the box
• Must be willing to learn and work with equipment they may not have previous knowledge with
• Current drivers licence (Required)
• A good understanding of basic DC electrical circuits
• Must be a clean worker and maintain a clean work area
• Must be able to adapt to different jobs and situations
• Tig and Mig welding skills are preferred although not required

Job Type: Casual with full time opportunity

Salary: Negotiable based on experience

Schedule

• 8 hour shifts - minimum 25 hours per week regular over time
• Monday to Friday
• On call
