Job summary

The Shift People Pty Ltd in the Byron Bay region is seeking a commercially minded Finance Analyst to join a fast-growing wellness brand. This role sits at the heart of decision-making, spanning product margins, forecasting, inventory and performance reporting.

You'll work across finance, eCommerce, retail and operations, delivering clear insights, dashboards and analyses that guide budgeting, cash flow and strategic investments.

Qualifications

• Experience in financial analysis, commercial finance, management accounting or a similar role.
• Strong Excel / Google Sheets skills.
• Solid knowledge of P&L, budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting.
• Strong commercial and analytical thinking.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Confidence communicating financial information to non-finance teams.
• Ability to move quickly and juggle priorities without losing your cool.
• Experience in fashion, retail, eCommerce or consumer brands would be a big advantage.
• Experience with BI, ERP or inventory platforms is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Weekly and monthly sales, margin and performance reporting.
• Budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow analysis.
• Analysing revenue, gross margin, operating costs and profitability.
• Tracking actual performance against budgets and forecasts.
• Product, category and channel profitability analysis.
• Inventory, stock turn, markdown and sell-through analysis.
• Creating clear dashboards and commercial reporting.
• Identifying trends, risks and growth opportunities.
• Supporting month-end and management reporting.
• Partnering with teams across the business to improve commercial decision-making.
• Continuously finding smarter ways to improve our financial reporting and processes.
