Job summary

CommBank is looking for a Data Scientist to join a Growth squad focused on data, machine learning and emerging AI capabilities to improve home lending customer experiences. You’ll develop machine learning and agentic AI solutions to help the business better understand customer needs and support more relevant, informed customer conversations.

You’ll own the data science lifecycle from framing the business problem to deployment and monitoring, balancing technical performance with responsible data

Qualifications

• Strong foundations in statistics, mathematics and machine learning.
• Experience applying data science to complex, commercial problems.
• Ability to connect model decisions to customer value and business outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Identify and optimise customer cohorts for home lending opportunities using analytics and predictive modelling.
• Design, run and measure experiments to evaluate propositions and improve outcomes.
• Develop AI-powered solutions including GenAI to enhance customer communications and personalisation.
• Decide whether problems are best solved by ML, rules, or agentic applications.
• Build robust evaluation frameworks assessing performance, reliability and business impact.
