Job summary

Penrith City Council is seeking experienced and passionate Group Fitness Instructors to join our casual team, delivering safe and engaging classes across Pilates and other programs at Ripples St Marys and Penrith.

You’ll focus on participant wellbeing, clear communication, and outstanding customer service while contributing to continuous improvement and benefiting from free gym memberships, Fitness Passport access, wellbeing programs, and career development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current personal training or related qualification.
• Current AUSactive registration or equivalent.
• First Aid and CPR certification.
• NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC).

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe and engaging group fitness classes for a wide range of members.
• Monitor participant wellbeing and provide exercise modifications to ensure a safe and inclusive environment.
• Create a welcoming, positive experience through excellent customer service and clear communication.
• Contribute to the Wellness Team by sharing industry knowledge and providing ideas to improve programs and services.
• Take part in training and contribute to a cooperative, high performing fitness team.

What are we looking for?

We are seeking someone who has

• An enthusiastic, confident and engaging presentation style.
• Ability to motivate and connect with participants of different fitness levels and abilities.
• A strong commitment to customer service, safety and participant wellbeing.
• Demonstrates respect, accountability, and innovation, and is motivated to make a positive impact in our diverse community.
• Holds a current personal training or tertiary qualification in related field
• Current AUSactive professional registration or equivalent
• A valid NSW Working with Children Check
• First Aid and CPR Certificate

The must-know bits

You will be required to undertake employment checks, which may include a Criminal History Check, Qualification Check, Working with Children Check, Medical Declaration and/or a Functional Test, as relevant to the position for which you have applied.

Where a Criminal History Check is required and has returned a result that indicates disclosable court outcomes, you will be required to provide a copy of the report to Penrith City Council, for review, to progress through the recruitment process.
