Location: Aveo Sydney CBD Corporate Office - 4 Days onsite & 1 Day WFH

Reports to: Finance Manager - Group Finance

The Opportunity

Joining Aveo as a Group Accountant, where you'll play a pivotal role in statutory and investor reporting, month-end close processes, and external audit coordination. This role offers the opportunity to work with senior finance leaders to ensure financial integrity and compliance across the Fund and the Manager entities.

Your Impact:
  • Prepare quarterly consolidated IFRS financial statements and deliver variance analysis to senior leadership.
  • Coordinate month-end close processes across divisional finance teams, including preparing recurring and revaluation journal entries.
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial close for the Manager and the Fund.
  • Support the preparation of year-end statutory financial statements and external audit processes.
  • Maintain robust financial controls, documentation, and reporting dashboards (Power BI) to safeguard group assets and prevent misstatements.
  • Draft technical accounting memos for complex transactions and judgments.
  • Provide ad-hoc financial data to support tax, ABS reporting, and strategic decision-making.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders across Aveo and The Living Company.

What you'll bring:
  • CPA or CA qualification with 3+ years post-qualification experience, ideally in property or funds management.
  • Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power BI; experience with TechOne is desirable.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Collaborative team player with a customer-focused mindset, who can also work independently with initiative.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to solve complex problems.
