Position Details

We’re looking for a committed and enthusiastic Groundskeeper to join our Palm Lake Resort Hervey Bay team and help keep our resort grounds in pristine condition. This is a part‑time role, working a minimum of 25 hours per week in a hands‑on capacity to maintain our gardens, lawns and outdoor areas, ensuring they are safe, clean and visually appealing. Your work will be essential to ensuring the resort grounds are presented to a high standard for our residents and visitors year‑round.

Responsibilities

• Hedge & tree trimming
• Mowing, edging & whipper snipping
• Control weeds and pests through the application of herbicides
• Raking and blowing leaves, pruning and disposing of dying vegetation
• Planting, mulching and maintaining flowers and shrubs, including watering and maintenance of irrigation systems
• Oversee the outdoor presentation of all facilities, including BBQ & pool maintenance
• Ensure all mechanical equipment and tools are kept in good working order

What We're Looking For

• A C class drivers licence
• Relevant gardening experience in a similar role
• Qualification in Cert III Horticulture or equivalent is advantageous
• ACDC chemical licence is advantageous
• Ability to use equipment such as push mower, ride‑on mower, hedge trimmer, whipper snipper and blower
• Possess the physical ability to undertake the requirements of the role, including bending, lifting and carrying
• Initiative and the ability to work with limited supervision
