Job summary

ARC Staff is seeking an experienced Grounds Maintenance Team Leader in Sydney to lead a mobile crew across commercial and open-space contracts. This hands-on leadership role involves supervising a small crew, planning daily works, and ensuring sites meet contract standards.

You'll operate and supervise grounds maintenance machinery, maintain safety standards, and support team development. A relevant qualification or substantial experience is required.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Horticulture/Parks & Gardens or ~5 years of relevant experience.
• Previous team leader or supervisory experience preferred.
• Current driver’s licence (essential).
• White Card (construction induction).
• Current Police Check, or willingness to obtain one (essential).
• Working With Children Check highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Leading and supervising a mobile crew.

Grounds Maintenance Team Leader – Sydney

ARC Staff is recruiting an experienced Grounds Maintenance Team Leader in Sydney for one of our major clients. You’ll lead a mobile crew across commercial and open-space contracts.

Location: Inner West Sydney
Pay: $33.00–$36.00 per hour, depending on experience
Company vehicle provided for the right candidate

About the Grounds Maintenance Team Leader Role

This is a hands‑on leadership role. You’ll lead from the front while supervising a small mobile grounds maintenance crew.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading and supervising a mobile crew
• Planning daily works and allocating tasks
• Making sure sites meet required contract standards
• Operating zero-turn and out-front mowers
• Pruning, hedging, mulching and planting
• Weed spraying and pest control
• Maintaining equipment
• Making sure safe work practices are followed
• Keeping presentation standards consistently high across sites
• Supporting and developing team members

What We’re Looking For

• Certificate III in Horticulture/Parks & Gardens OR approximately 5 years’ relevant experience
• Previous team leader or supervisory experience preferred
• Current driver’s licence (essential)
• White Card
• Current Police Check, or willing to obtain one (essential)
• Working With Children Check highly regarded
• Experience operating grounds maintenance machinery
• Strong safety focus
• Reliable, with excellent communication skills
• Pride in your workmanship
• Ability to motivate and lead a team
