Job summary

St Luke's Catholic College (Secondary) Marsden Park is seeking a skilled Grounds Maintenance Officer to support daily upkeep of the school grounds and facilities. The role includes cleaning, general building maintenance and assisting with grounds tasks to ensure a safe, welcoming environment.

This ongoing full-time position requires the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. A trade background is desirable, WWCC is required, and pre-employment medical may be arranged.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification not essential but desirable; relevant knowledge or experience acceptable.
• Pre-employment medical assessment may be required.
• Valid Paid Working With Children Check (WWCC) required.

Responsibilities

• Perform non-specialised repair work.
• Undertake general gardening tasks including planting.
• Operate, maintain and adjust turf machinery.
• Apply fertilisers, fungicides, herbicides and insecticides.
• Respond to alarms and assist with building security and incident reporting.
• Assist qualified tradespersons in maintenance tasks.
• Undertake other duties as directed by Principal or delegate, including operation of security systems.

St Luke’s Catholic College is seeking a skilled and reliable Grounds Maintenance Officer to support the day-to-day upkeep of the school grounds and facilities.

The successful candidate will work as part of the school team and assist with a range of services, including grounds maintenance, cleaning and general building maintenance, helping to ensure the school environment is safe, welcoming and well maintained.

This is an Ongoing Full-time position commencing as soon as possible

Key Responsibilities

We're seeking a skilled Non-trade Qualified Tradesperson employee who will be responsible to support the other services of a school, including but not limited to cleaning, building and grounds maintenance. Your responsibilities will include;

• non-specialised repair work;
• undertaking general gardening tasks including preparation and planting procedures;
• operating, maintaining and adjusting turf machinery under general supervision;
• applying fertilisers, fungicides, herbicides and insecticides under general supervision;
• responding to alarms, following emergency procedures and preparing incident reports, inspecting and securing buildings;
• providing assistance to qualified tradespersons in building and furniture maintenance;
• undertake any other duties as requested by the Principal and/or Principal’s Delegate. This may include operation of the school’s security system when commencing/finishing a shift.

Experience and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will be required to meet the following criteria:

While a Trade qualification (Certificate III) is not essential, you must have a skill level supported by relevant knowledge, training, or experience suited to the duties of the position. A trade qualification is highly desirable

Ability to complete a pre-employment medical assessment with our partnering provider to a satisfactory standard
