Job summary

St Laurence's Catholic Primary School, Dubbo is seeking a skilled Grounds & Maintenance Officer to join the team in a permanent part-time capacity, working 12 hours per fortnight. This role supports the operational services of the school, including building maintenance and grounds upkeep.

Duties include lawn and oval care, preparation for sporting events, safe handling of pesticides and fertilizers, machinery operation, contractor liaison, and assisting the Principal.

• Experience in grounds and facilities maintenance.
• Ability to operate and maintain grounds machinery.
• Knowledge of safety and chemical handling practices.

About Role

St Laurence's Catholic Primary School, Dubbo is seeking a skilled Grounds & Maintenance Officer to join the team in a permanent part-time capacity, working 12 hours per fortnight. This role supports the operational services of the school, including building maintenance, and grounds upkeep.

Responsibilities Include:

• Maintenance and care of lawns, sporting ovals and gardens.
• Preparation of ovals for sporting events and carnivals as required.
• Management and safe distribution of organic and chemical pesticide sprays and fertilisers.
• Safely operate and maintain machinery as required.
• Liaise with, and monitor, external contractors to ensure contractual expectations are delivered to a satisfactory standard if required.
• Assist with maintenance tasks as directed by the School Principal.
• Contribute to the cleanliness and good order of the grounds and maintenance storage and work areas.
• Undertake the cleanliness and appearances of the externals of buildings and structures as required.
