Job summary

Brilliantalent is seeking a Grid Connection Project Manager to lead successful delivery and grid integration for utility-scale BESS projects across Australia. You will work with engineering teams, customers, contractors and partners to manage grid interfaces and drive projects from planning through commissioning.

The role requires strong PM capability and a deep understanding of Australian grid connection requirements or substantial AC-side experience. Hybrid work options apply in Australia.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of project or engineering experience within grid connection, BESS, renewable energy, electrical infrastructure or related power projects.
• Strong understanding of Australian grid connection requirements or substantial AC-side project experience.
• Demonstrated project management capability across schedule, risk, stakeholders and delivery.
• Experience coordinating engineering, construction and commissioning activities.
• Strong stakeholder management and problem-solving skills.
• Genuine understanding of the Australian energy and project delivery environment.

Responsibilities

• Grid Connection Delivery: Develop and maintain project plans, schedules and key connection milestones.
• Coordinate project requirements across engineering, construction and commissioning teams.
• Monitor progress and proactively resolve grid-related project delivery issues.
• Project Management & Controls: Manage schedule, quality, cost, risk and stakeholder requirements across assigned projects.
• Identify connection and project delivery risks and coordinate mitigation actions.
• Track project KPIs, milestones and outstanding actions.
• Stakeholder & Interface Management: Coordinate with customers, contractors, engineering teams and relevant external project stakeholders.
• Maintain clear communication across internal and external stakeholders.
• Support broader project delivery and future BESS opportunities in the Australian market.

With a growing Australian project portfolio, the business is expanding its local delivery capability to support utility-scale BESS projects and their integration into the Australian electricity network.

About The Role

We are seeking a Grid Connection Project Manager to support the successful delivery and grid integration of utility-scale BESS projects across Australia.

The role requires strong project management capability combined with an understanding of Australian grid connection requirements or substantial AC-side project experience.

Working with engineering teams, customers, contractors and project partners, you will manage grid-related project interfaces and support projects through to commissioning and handover.

Key Responsibilities

Grid Connection Delivery

• Manage grid connection and AC-side activities across utility-scale BESS projects.
• Develop and maintain project plans, schedules and key connection milestones.
• Coordinate project requirements across engineering, construction and commissioning teams.
• Monitor progress and proactively resolve grid-related project delivery issues.

Project Management & Controls

• Manage schedule, quality, cost, risk and stakeholder requirements across assigned projects.
• Identify connection and project delivery risks and coordinate mitigation actions.

• Ensure activities are aligned with relevant Australian project and connection requirements.

Stakeholder & Interface Management

• Coordinate with customers, contractors, engineering teams and relevant external project stakeholders.
• Manage interfaces between the BESS solution, AC-side infrastructure and wider project scope.
• Maintain clear communication across internal and external stakeholders.
• Support broader project delivery and future BESS opportunities in the Australian market.

Skills & Experience

• Approximately 5+ years of project or engineering experience within grid connection, BESS, renewable energy, electrical infrastructure or related power projects.
• Strong understanding of Australian grid connection requirements or substantial AC-side project experience.
• Demonstrated project management capability across schedule, risk, stakeholders and delivery.
• Experience coordinating engineering, construction and commissioning activities.
• Strong stakeholder management and problem-solving skills.
• Genuine understanding of the Australian energy and project delivery environment.
• Degree qualification in Engineering, Project Management, Business Administration or a related discipline.
• Chinese language capability would be advantageous but is not essential.

• Base salary of AU$180,000-$220,000 plus superannuation.
