Job summary

Mercor is seeking a part-time Graphic Designer based in Sydney, NSW, Australia to support a research project with an AI lab. You will work on real design workflows on your own Mac, creating high-quality training data for AI models and narrating your design processes.

Ideal candidates have 2-3 years of experience or are pursuing a Masters, with strong branding, typography, and visual communication skills. This is a remote, independent-contractor role with weekly payments via Stripe or Wise.

Qualifications

• Own a MacBook/Mac with M-series or Intel, macOS 15+.
• Proficiency with design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Affinity, or Canva.
• Experience in branding, layout, typography, and visual communication; a portfolio is a plus.
• Currently pursuing or recently completed Masters studies, or have 2-3 years of relevant experience + Bachelor from a prestigious institution.
• Ability to clearly explain your creative decisions while you work.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

More About The Graphic Designer Role At Mercor

Mercor is looking for graphic designers with 2-3 years of professional or freelance experience, or currently enrolled postgrad design students, to support a research project with a leading AI lab. You will work through real design workflows on your own Mac to help benchmark and improve cutting-edge AI models.

Qualifications

• Required: You must own a MacBook or Mac with an Apple M-series chip or Intel processor, running macOS 15 or higher. Applicants without a Mac cannot be considered.
• Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Affinity, or Canva
• Experience with branding, layout, typography, and visual communication; a portfolio is a plus
• Currently pursuing or recently completed Masters studies, or have 2-3 years of relevant experience + Bachelors from a prestigious institution
• Ability to clearly explain your creative decisions while you work
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Job Details

• Part-time commitment of approximately 10-20 hours per week
• Responsibilities include completing and narrating real graphic design tasks on your Mac to create high-quality training data for advanced AI models
• Clearly structured responsibilities without the high pressure typically found in internships or full-time consulting roles
• Immediate start preferred

• Payments are weekly on Stripe or Wise based on services rendered.
