Job summary

Fountain Gate Secondary College in Melbourne seeks a graduate classroom teacher to develop and deliver high‑quality learning programs across year levels. You will work within established guidelines, receiving mentoring from experienced teachers to support planning, preparation and teaching of student-focused lessons.

Applicants will have completed their teacher training within the last four years and be eligible for Victorian teaching registration.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the relevant curriculum and ability to teach literacy and numeracy.
• Capacity to implement high impact teaching strategies and evaluate impact.
• Ability to monitor and assess learning using data to inform practice and provide feedback.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage with students, parents and staff.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver teaching programs or courses of study.
• Teach a curriculum area to a year level.
• Monitor and report student progress in key learning areas.
• Implement strategies to achieve targets related to student learning outcomes.
• Maintain records of class attendance and student progress.
• Implement effective student management aligned with school charter.
• Working with a mentor to participate in professional development planning and reflection.
• Support and participate in policy development and co-curricular activities.
