Job summary

Amey Australia in Dubbo invites applications for a Graduate Surveyor to join our multidisciplinary team, contributing from fieldwork through to final plans and reporting.

You’ll work with our Survey Manager and senior staff, progressing toward Registered Survey accreditation with exposure to cadastral, engineering and control surveys and mentoring for professional development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in surveying or equivalent.
  • Experience with fieldwork and drafting is desirable.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Topcon Magnet and MS Office is expected.

Responsibilities

  • Assist and progressively lead cadastral, engineering and control surveys.
  • Perform survey fieldwork, calculations and surveying searches.
  • Prepare and draft survey plans and reports using CAD software.
  • Support checking, finalisation and filing of plans and documentation.
  • Liaise with internal teams, clients and external stakeholders.
  • Manage survey equipment and vehicles.
  • Contribute to projects within agreed timeframes and budgets.

We're seeking a Graduate Surveyor to join our multidisciplinary Dubbo team and contribute to a wide range of projects across the region.

About the Role

Working closely with our Survey Manager, Registered Surveyor and senior team members, you'll be involved in the delivery of projects from fieldwork through to final plans and reporting.

  • Assisting with and progressively leading components of cadastral, engineering and control surveys;
  • Undertaking survey fieldwork, calculations and survey searching;
  • Preparing and drafting survey plans and reports using CAD software (AutoCAD and Topcon Magnet);
  • Supporting the checking, finalisation and filing of plans and documentation;
  • Liaising with internal team members, clients and external stakeholders;
  • Managing survey equipment and vehicles;
  • Contributing to projects in line with agreed timeframes, budgets and quality standards.

This role offers a balance of office-based and field work, with exposure to varied environments and project types.

About You

You're a capable and motivated Graduate Surveyor or early-career Surveyor with some practical experience, ready to take the next step in your career.

  • A bachelor's degree in surveying or equivalent;
  • Practical experience across surveying fieldwork and drafting;
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Topcon Magnet and Microsoft Office (or similar software programs) and strong IT skills and ability to learn relevant software programs;
  • Working knowledge of relevant surveying and planning legislation;
  • Strong time management, attention to detail and problem‑solving skills;
  • Confident communication skills and the ability to work well in a team;
  • A proactive approach and accountability for your work;
  • A current valid Australian driver's licence.

You'll also have a strong interest in continuing professional development and working towardsRegistered Surveyor accreditation.
