We have an excellent opportunity for Graduate Software Project Engineers to join Dematic’s Global Product and Solutions team. Based at Dematic’s largest project site in Tarneit, Melbourne you will collaborate with a terrific team of engineers, supporting the commissioning and testing of innovative software solutions to ensure the seamless integration of software with our advanced Materials Handling Equipment (MHE).

The Global Products and Solutions Team develops cutting‑edge technologies used by Dematic and KION project engineering teams worldwide, enabling us to maintain and strengthen our position as a global market leader in supply chain automation.
This role typically operates Monday to Friday; however, flexibility is required to support occasional weekend and after‑hours activities during commissioning, testing, and key project milestones.
You’ll work on significant, hands‑on projects, where your solutions have an immediate impact.

Your contributions will shape global project engineering and be a part of ground‑breaking warehouse technologies used around the world.
Execute integrated commissioning tests between the software and the Materials Handling Equipment (MHE) on and off‑site as required.
Write commissioning test scripts based on project specifications.
Debugging/working on bug fixes and QA/Testing.
Capture, summarise and communicate testing results and progress with team members.
Record evidence of Test results in real‑time and maintain and track progress.
Triage, record, prioritise and manage any issues that affect progress.
Track and review progress through meetings.
Assist with identification and redressal of issues.
Verify evidence of bug fixes and provide input to the release procedures.
Participating in system acceptance testing with our customers.
Coordinating between Software Project Manager/Software Lead, Systems Integration Manager, Controls Engineers and the end customer.
Train end users with Dematic application workflows.
Provide customer startup support.
Help create an empowering and inspiring work culture within the commissioning team.
Promote Health and Safety culture whilst working on and off‑site.
Degree: B.S. Computer Science or related field
Honour Graduates with strong academic results
Background or experience in Software Engineering and/or Automation
Experience of real‑time manual and automated environments
Experience in various equipment interface protocols
Knowledge of WMS / WCS software
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Good technical skills and ability to learn new applications quickly
Understanding of relational databases and basic knowledge of SQL
Programming Languages: C, Scripting Languages
