Job summary

GHD Brisbane is seeking a Graduate Planner in 2027 within our Environment and Impact Assessment team. Based in Brisbane, you will join a collaborative group of planners helping shape communities, infrastructure and development projects across Queensland and beyond.

This two-year Graduate Development Program offers mentorship, cross-disciplinary collaboration, and opportunities to learn planning legislation, industry best practices, and emerging trends while contributing to meaningful projects.

Qualifications

• Background in Urban and Regional Planning, Environmental Planning, Town Planning, Geography, or a related discipline.
• Ability to learn from experienced planning professionals and work with multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication for planning submissions and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of planning projects across infrastructure, transport, energy, water, resources, and urban development.
• Assist with planning assessments, approvals strategies, development applications, and supporting documentation.
• Conduct research and analysis of planning schemes, legislation, policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, government agencies, and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Contribute to the preparation of technical reports, planning submissions, consent applications, and consultation materials.
• Develop understanding of planning legislation, industry best practices, and emerging trends.
