Job summary

UnitingCare Hospitals in Brisbane seeks a Graduate Physiotherapist to join a 24‑month fixed-term program with full-time hours and four rotations across Surgical, Medical, Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation.

Locations include The Wesley Hospital (Brisbane), St Andrew’s War Memorial (Brisbane) and St Stephen’s (Hervey Bay) with accommodation provided for the Hervey Bay rotation. You will contribute to a multidisciplinary team and support patient recovery.

Qualifications

• AHPRA registration is required to practise as a physiotherapist in Australia.
• Australian Working Rights apply (no sponsorship available).
• Health experience in a clinical setting is desirable.
• Excellent timekeeping is essential for shift-based work.
• Recent graduate within 12 months of commencement date is preferred.
• Availability to commence mid‑January 2027.
• One acute tertiary hospital placement completed is desirable.
• Commitment to teamwork and high-level communication skills.
• Willingness to obtain required vaccinations in line with infection control requirements.

Responsibilities

• Join our Allied Health team to help patients maximise movement and function.
• Provide treatment integral to recovery from surgery, illness or injury.
• Work across rotations in Acute hospital, Rehabilitation and Day Rehabilitation; regional rotation to St Stephen’s Hospital in Hervey Bay (accommodation provided).

Employment Term: 24-month fixed term Graduate Program with Full time hours

Program Details: Four rotations of six months, included in the rotations will involve areas of Surgical / Medical/ Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation.

Location: These rotations will be located across three of the UnitingCare Hospitals.

The Wesley Hospital – Auchenflower - Brisbane

St Andrew’s War Memorial – Spring Hill – Brisbane

St Stephen’s – Hervey Bay – Accommodation will be provided for this location.

Remuneration: $45.49p/hr + 12% Super + Not for Profit Salary Packaging (save tax and increase your take home pay) + Penalties

Start Date: Mid-January 2027

Your part in our UnitingCare Hospital’s team

Our team of allied health professionals assist patients through a variety of admitted programs and outpatient services to achieve the best possible outcomes in their rehabilitation and recovery. Our team includes Physiotherapists, Exercise Physiologists, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, Speech Pathologists, Social Workers and Dietitians. We offer a wide variety of services including Women’s and Men’s Health, Outpatient, Rehabilitation and Persistent Pain.

Joining our Allied Health team as a Physiotherapist, you will work with patients to maximise their physical potential and restore movement and function, providing treatment integral to recovery from surgery, illness and injury.

With a focus on delivering high‑quality, clinical care to patients within an acute setting, you’ll recognise the importance of multi‑disciplinary approaches to rehabilitation, bringing an open, collaborative approach to patient‑centred care. Offering rotations in the Acute hospital, Rehabilitation and Day Rehabilitation. There will a regional rotation to St Stephen’s Private Hospital in Hervey Bay within your second‑year rotations, with accommodation provided.

Willingness to obtain required vaccinations in line with hospitals infection control requirements
