Descripción del empleo

Graduate Mechatronics Engineer (February Start)

At Siemens, we create technology that transforms the everyday, for everyone.

Australia may contribute around 1% of global emissions, but we know that every action matters. That's why we empower our customers to do more with less: using less energy, reducing emissions and building industries that shape a cleaner, smarter and fairer and more sustainable future.

By combining the real and digital worlds, we help our customers transform their industries and markets - and in turn, make a positive impact on the everyday lives of billions of people. Innovation, sustainability and inclusivity are at the heart of what we do.

About the Graduate Program

Build real expertise, not just broad exposure

Our 2-year graduate program is designed to help you grow into a confident professional with strong technical capability, commercial competence and lasting connections.

Rather than moving through short rotations, you’ll join one team and build depth in your role over time. That means more ownership, stronger mentoring, and a clearer view of how your work contributes to business outcomes.

About the Role & Team

Based in our Gold Coast hub, you will join our Production Engineering team as a permanent team member from day one. This is an opportunity to work in one of Australia’s distinctive advanced manufacturing environments, building complex engineered products for global markets. You’ll turn engineering into practical results on the factory floor, solving technical problems, introducing engineering changes and developing better equipment and manufacturing processes. Working alongside Production, Quality, Supply Chain and R&D, you’ll drive automation, digitalisation, safety and productivity as we continue to develop and scale our manufacturing capability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day engineering support to advanced manufacturing and production operations
  • Investigate and resolve product and process issues affecting manufacturing performance and quality
  • Design, develop, and improve jigs, fixtures, production aids and test equipment
  • Coordinate and implement engineering changes to products and manufacturing processes
  • Maintain manufacturing documentation, drawings, BOMs and standard work instructions
  • Analyse manufacturing and test data to identify continuous improvement opportunities focused on safety, quality, delivery and cost (Lean Manufacturing principles)
  • Assist with production readiness activities for new product introductions and automation upgrades

Why You’ll Love Being Part of Our Team

  • Permanent role from day one paired with our structured 2-year graduate development program designed to accelerate your growth, commercial thinking and leadership capability
  • Dedicated L&D time with 36 hours each year specifically for professional learning and development
  • Flexible working model with the opportunity to work approved days from home each week (operational requirements permitting)
  • Paid volunteering leave to give back to causes and communities that matter to you
  • Family-first culture including up to 16 weeks paid parental leave and comprehensive support networks
  • Take part in events, mentoring and team-building activities to grow your network across Australia and globally

About You

You don't need to know everything yet—that’s what our graduate program is for! We are seeking curious, innovative graduates with a growth mindset who are passionate about automation, technology, and hands‑on problem-solving.

To be eligible for our 2027 program, you will bring:

  • A recently completed Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics Engineering
  • Australian or New Zealand citizenship or Australian permanent residency at the time of application
  • Hands‑on problem solving: Comfortable on the shop floor, using data to troubleshoot equipment and design practical jigs, fixtures or test aids
  • Practical familiarity with industrial automation, PLCs, control systems or CAD design
  • Continuous improvement mindset with an interest in Lean Manufacturing and finding safer, smarter ways to build complex products
  • Strong communication skills to partner effectively with production teams, quality, supply chain and R&D
