Job summary

InfraBuild is inviting recent or soon-to-be graduates to join our 2028 Graduate Program as a Graduate Mechanical Engineer. Starting January 2028, the two-year fixed-term contract includes two 12-month rotations, mentorship, and formal training to blend technical and commercial skills.

You will rotate through diverse units, gaining practical experience in hydraulics, materials handling, water and fume treatment, and project management, while learning operations and strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

• A genuine passion for Mechanical within the operational context of steel manufacturing and distribution.
• Australian/NZ citizenship or a visa granting unlimited working rights.
• Completion of an Australian tertiary degree within the past three years (or set to conclude in 2027).
• Less than two years of full‑time, discipline‑specific work experience.

Responsibilities

• Deep dive into hydraulics, materials handling, water treatment, fume treatment systems, bridge and gantry cranes with hands‑on experience in project management and coordinating projects.
• Engage with maintenance and life‑cycle projects, focusing on reliability enhancement for rotational and static equipment.
• Engage with diverse and intriguing tasks spanning various mechanical engineering areas.

We at InfraBuild would like to invite recent or soon-to-be graduates to take part in our 2028 Graduate Program as a Graduate Mechanical Engineer.

Real Work with Real Outcomes –

Starting in January 2028, our program offers a two-year fixed-term contract with the potential for permanent placement. This immersive, hands‑on program provides practical learning through fundamental tasks and meaningful work. Participants will complete two 12-month rotational placements, gaining a comprehensive technical and commercial skills training blend.

The program includes continuous coaching, mentorship, and formal training, allowing participants to rotate through diverse business units. This structure ensures a thorough understanding of operations and strategic initiatives, combining on‑the‑job learning with formal education.

As a Graduate Mechanical Engineer, you will have the opportunity to

• Deep dive into Hydraulics & pneumatic systems, materials handling, water treatment, fume treatment Systems, Bridge and gantry cranes. Gain hands‑on experience in project management, learning to lead and coordinate projects effectively.
• Explore maintenance and life cycle projects, with a focus on reliability enhancement, particularly in relation to rotational and static equipment.
• Engage with diverse and intriguing tasks spanning various mechanical engineering areas
