Brisbane City Council invites graduates to join a 12-month, temporary full-time Graduate Mechanical Engineer program within Fleet Solutions. You will gain hands-on experience supporting Brisbane's diverse vehicle fleet, heavy plant and equipment, with rotational placements and a structured training program designed to develop practical engineering skills.

The Role

As a Graduate Mechanical Engineer within Fleet Solutions, you will gain hands-on experience supporting Brisbane City Council's diverse fleet of vehicles, heavy plant and specialised equipment.

You will work alongside experienced engineers and asset management professionals and contribute to a range of activities, including:

• fleet replacement and lifecycle planning
• vehicle and equipment specification development
• technical evaluations and engineering assessments
• asset management and reliability improvement initiatives
• procurement and supplier engagement activities
• engineering investigations and root cause analysis
• data analysis and continuous improvement projects
• supporting the safe, reliable and cost-effective operation of Council's fleet assets.

• hold a recognised degree or post graduate qualification from a tertiary institution, completed within the last two years OR be completing a recognised degree or postgraduate degree from a tertiary institution which will confer prior to commencement in the program in February 2027
• have visa/work rights that allow full-time work for the duration of the 12-month program.
