Job summary

City of Gold Coast is offering a 12-month Graduate Academy starting February 2027 for a Graduate Audit Officer. It is a full-time fixed-term role with a 9-day fortnight (36 hours per week) and a salary from $79,016 per annum plus superannuation.

You will join the Internal Audit unit, contribute to audit planning, fieldwork and reporting, and gain hands-on experience across the internal audit lifecycle while receiving coaching and mentorship from industry leaders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or postgraduate qualification completed within the last two years.
• Full working rights in Australia for the duration of the program.
• Able to work full-time.
• Graduates from Accounting, Finance, Commerce or Business are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Audit planning: research and data analysis to understand processes, risks and requirements.
• Audit fieldwork: sample testing, site visits and stakeholder meetings.

The Internal Audit unit is responsible for providing assurance and advisory services to help the City make better decisions and improve our operations so we can better support our community. As a graduate audit officer, you will work in a team to assist with the completion of tasks across the internal audit lifecycle:

• Audit planning: Research and data analysis to understand City processes, risks, regulatory requirements and best practice.
• Audit fieldwork: Sample testing, site visits and stakeholder meetings
• Audit reporting: Drafting audit reports and briefing notes summarising outcomes of audit activities.

Who can apply?

To be considered for this opportunity you must hold a recognised bachelor's degree or postgraduate qualification from a tertiary institution, completed within the last two years or be completing prior to the commencement of the program in February 2027. Applicants must have full working rights in Australia for the duration of the program and be able to work full-time.

The Internal Audit Graduate position is recommended for but not limited to graduates who have studied Bachelor of Accounting, Finance, Commerce or Business; and related fields.
