Job summary

Macquarie Geotechnical is seeking a Graduate Geophysicist to work on road, rail and mine infrastructure projects across Australia, with a focus in New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland. The role is based in Sydney with travel to project sites.

This is a full-time position. Responsibilities include assisting with geophysical surveys, downhole logging, data processing and reporting, and equipment operation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Geophysics or Geology.
• Numerical, analytical and observation skills.
• Ability to problem solve.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work within a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with collection of geophysical surveys (Seismic Refraction, MASW, Electrical Resistivity, Magnetics, GPR, Electromagnetics).
• Undertake downhole geophysical logging surveys.
• Assist with processing, drafting, and reporting of geophysical datasets.
• Engage with maintenance and safe operation of geophysical equipment.
