Job summary

Kyabram District Health Service (KDHS) invites applications for an Enrolled Nurse graduate position within the Clinical Services - Aged Care program. This part-time fixed-term role (0.6–0.8 FTE) runs for 12 months, commencing 25 January 2027, with potential for ongoing employment.

Graduates will consolidate nursing knowledge in residential aged care, supported by the Education team and clinical mentors, with a clear pathway to ongoing opportunities within KDHS.

Qualifications

  • Current registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Administration of Medication scope of four and five routes for Acute, Aged Care, District Nursing Service or all five for Perioperative.
  • Current clinical experience working in an acute setting.
  • Basic knowledge of patient management and information systems.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills.
  • Competent computer skills with patient management/information technology systems.
  • Ability to work across KDHS in the event of clinical escalation.

Responsibilities

  • Join the Enrolled Nurse graduate program in residential aged care to consolidate nursing knowledge and skills.
  • Complete 12 months in this department before progressing within KDHS.
  • Work with the Education team, clinical support nurses and nurse unit managers and nursing and interprofessional colleagues.
  • Provide patient care and contribute to quality outcomes and safety in care.

About the Role

An exciting opportunity exists for a motivated Enrolled Nurse to join the graduate nursing program in a supportive clinical environment.Graduates in the Enrolled Nursing graduate program commence in residential aged care at Kyabram District Health Service to consolidate nursing knowledge and skills obtained in their Diploma of Nursing qualification. The program incorporates completion of 12 months in this department before utilizing these transferable skills to progress/apply for ongoing employment within Kyabram District health Service within a department of Graduates preference (pending vacancy).

This program has one intake annually: January 2027

The program offers you the opportunity to consolidate nursing theory and practice. You are supported by the Education team, clinical support nurses and nurse unit managers and nursing and interprofessional colleagues. The program has a structured 3 day orientation program, 8 x study days throughout the year and ongoing support from the education team.

About you
