South32’s Worsley Refinery in Western Australia is seeking a Graduate Process Engineer for a structured two-year programme. You will develop technical, professional and personal capabilities while rotating through processes, focusing on reliability, safety and continuous improvement.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Process Engineering and will collaborate across technical, production and maintenance teams to deliver value and learn in a supportive, multi-disciplinary

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a Permanent role, 40 hours per week, 9-day fortnight. Our Worsley Refinery is a short drive from communities such as Collie (20 Minutes) & Bunbury (45 Minutes) which all offer an enviable country lifestyle. Surrounded by magnificent jarrah forests, pristine beaches and world-famous wineries, you will live and work in one of the most beautiful regions of Western Australia and still be home each night.

Candidates should ideally live within an hour’s drive of Collie as there is no accommodation on site.

Asa Graduate Process Engineer, you will be responsible for developing your technical, professional and personal capabilities through a structured two-year programme, progressively building the skills and confidence to succeed as a Process Engineer. This role is not specific to any production area. Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

• Collaborate across technical, production and maintenance teams to coordinate plant priorities.
• Monitor process control parameters to support product quality and minimise production losses.
• Review plant performance and maintenance requirements to identify hazards and improvement opportunities.
• Contribute to practical solutions that improve plant reliability, asset care and operational outcomes.

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

• Building positive relationships and contributing effectively within diverse, collaborative teams.
• Applying analytical thinking and structured problem-solving to technical challenges.
• Communicating information, priorities and recommendations clearly to different audiences.
• Demonstrating curiosity, initiative and a genuine commitment to ongoing learning.
• Balancing safety, quality, efficiency and operational requirements when making decisions.
• Using Microsoft Office tools to analyse information, prepare documentation and share insights.

Qualifications for this position are:

• Bachelor’s degree in either Chemical or Process Engineering
