Job summary

South32 Worsley Alumina is hiring an Area Coach to develop workforce capability through inclusive coaching, training and assessment that support safe, consistent production. You’ll deliver job-based competency training and mentor operators, with strong collaboration with supervisors to build crew capability and progression.

Based in the South-West of Western Australia, you’ll live within reach of Collie and Bunbury, enjoy a country lifestyle and contribute to a sustainable low-carbon future

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a Permanent role, 40 hours per week, Monday to Thursday Roster .
Our Worsley Refinery is a short drive from communities such as Collie (20 Minutes) & Bunbury (45 Minutes) which all offer an enviable country lifestyle. Surrounded by magnificent jarrah forests, pristine beaches and world-famous wineries, you will live and work in one of the most beautiful regions of Western Australia and still be home each night.

Candidates should ideally live within an hour’s drive of Collie as there is no accommodation on site.

Asan Area Coach, you will be responsible for developing workforce capability by delivering inclusive coaching, training and assessment that supports safe, consistent and effective production. O ther key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

• Deliver and assess job-based competency training in line with operational standards.
• Mentor trainees, operators and workplace assessors, providing constructive feedback and progress updates.
• Partner with supervisors to develop training plans that build crew competency and support career progression.
• Review training materials, work instructions, competency profiles and onboarding content to drive continuous improvement.

ABOUT YOU

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

• Delivering and assessing job-based competency training within an operational environment.
• Coaching people with different experience levels, learning styles and development needs.
• Building trusting relationships through empathy, active listening and respectful communication.
• Providing clear, constructive feedback that builds confidence and supports continued growth.
• Planning, monitoring and reporting on individual and team capability development.
• Collaborating across diverse teams while demonstrating a strong commitment to safety, inclusion and organisational values.

Qualifications for this position are:

• Cert IV TAE Training & Assessment
