Why This Role Is Different:

Reporting to both the System Safety Manager and the Manager of your area of expertise, you will receive training in both disciplines, so if after the end of the development program you decide that system safety isn't for you, you have continued to gain experience .

You will have the opportunity to provide specialist engineering support to multiple engineering programs within Raytheon Australia, potential gaining experience in Air, Sea and Land programs .

Interact with industry specialists such as Submariners, Sailors, Pilots, Electronic Warfare Operators

Develop practical solutions to complex engineering problems.

Learn System Safety principles throughout program life cycles, from initial development through to planning for disposal

Opportunity to travel within Australia to attend test and evaluation events of complex systems

Ask lots of questions - Some of the best safety engineering starts with: \"but what happens if it doesn't work like that?\"

What Skills We're Looking For:

  • Like understanding how things work.

  • Enjoy solving complex problems.

  • Can explain technical concepts clearly.

  • Notice details that others might miss.

  • Are comfortable challenging assumptions respectfully.

  • Think \"I should probably check that\" more often than the average person.

  • The ability to explain complicated technical concepts without using seventeen PowerPoint slides.
