Job summary

Raytheon Australia is seeking graduates or early career engineers to apply their mechanical, electrical or aerospace knowledge while developing a specialist career in System Safety Engineering. You will join a small, agile team working on defence programs and receive industry-best practice training within a 2-3 year development program.

You will work alongside experienced engineers, contribute to real-world projects, and learn how advanced systems are designed to operate safely and reliably

Qualifications

• Recent graduate or early career engineer in mechanical, electrical or aerospace fields.
• Willingness to work on defence projects.
• Understanding of safety and system lifecycle concepts.

What Is System Safety

As a System Safety Engineer you will make sure complex systems are not only functional, but safe, minimizing the risk to personnel, capability and environment before the problems ever reach the real world. You’ll work closely with engineers, operators, maintainers and other stakeholders to understand how systems are designed, used and supported, identifying potential hazards and influencing safer outcomes through a system lifecycle.
