Job summary

Terra Verde is seeking a Graduate Engineer to support the project’s engineering and construction activities across on-site and office settings in Melbourne. You will develop technical and project management skills while contributing to planning, execution and reporting for the Suburban Rail Loop project.

You will gain hands-on experience in design review, temporary works, data analysis and procurement, working with a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, compliant outcomes.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Engineering.
• Construction White Card.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver tasks in line with project requirements, ensuring quality, safety and environmental standards.
• Support design and approval of temporary works.
• Perform data analysis and routine engineering tasks; assist in complex technical assignments.
• Review and interpret design plans, contribute to constructability reviews and final designs.
• Assist in procurement of materials and services per project specs.
• Identify, report, and support resolution of non-conformances.
• Develop strong working relationships with stakeholders and maintain site visibility.
• Promote and participate in risk management activities and safety culture.
• Ensure compliance with legislative, commercial, and contractual obligations.
• Encourage open communication and support continuous improvement.

Job description

Terra Verde is a joint venture between Webuild, GS Engineering & Construction (E&C) Australia, and Bouygues Construction Australia. The joint venture combines experienced local personnel with global resources and expertise.

Terra Verde is delivering nearly 10 kilometres of parallel tunnels between Glen Waverley and Box Hill, including 39 cross passages and two station boxes at Glen Waverley and Burwood in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs, as part of the Suburban Rail Loop Project.

About the Role

The Graduate will support engineering and construction activities while progressively developing technical and project management skills. This role offers exposure to both on-site and office-based work across the Terra Verde project, providing hands-on experience in project planning, execution, and reporting. It is designed to build a strong foundation for a long-term career in the infrastructure and construction sector.

Qualifications & Experience

• Prior experience on large-scale infrastructure projects within Australia is desirable but not required.
