Job summary

BMT is seeking a Graduate Combat Systems Engineer to jump straight into exciting projects that keep Australia’s naval assets at the cutting edge. You will work within the Maritime Design and Engineering team on Combat Systems/C4I integration across ships and regional programs.

Deliver design concepts, OEM interactions, and support from investigations to production, with mentoring from senior engineers and a strong focus on developing autonomy and technical capability.

Qualifications

• A relevant Engineering degree (such as Computer Systems, Electronics or Communications).
• Excellent written communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Well-developed problem diagnosis and solving skills.
• Effective time management skills and strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Perform specialist design and engineering in the integration of combat management systems, communications, weapons and sensor systems on naval vessels.
• Provide Combat Systems/C4I engineering support and guidance within whole of ship teams involving all technical disciplines.
• Undertake engineering projects from investigations, through design concepts and OEM interaction, through to production implementation and customer acceptance.
• Represent the company on a professional and technical basis with Defence/Navy clients and with OEMs and system suppliers.
