Job summary

Aitken Civil Engineering is seeking a Graduate Civil Engineer / Junior Project Engineer to kickstart their civil career in a family-owned team working on earthworks and road construction across Sydney and Regional NSW.

You’ll be mentored by experienced Project Managers and Engineers, with training and guidance on project planning, procurement, safety, site inspections and costings, while contributing to major civil projects and learning how to review drawings and RFIs.

Qualifications

• tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or related field
• Graduate to 1–2 years’ experience (graduates encouraged to apply)
• MUST be willing to work away in Regional NSW
• Class C driver’s licence
• White Card (or willingness to obtain)
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Proactive and positive mindset

Responsibilities

• As Graduate Civil Engineer, work with Project Managers and Engineers who mentor and support development
• Assist with project planning, organisation and programming
• Support procurement of materials and services
• Conduct safety inspections and maintain compliance
• Communicate with clients and stakeholders
• Perform quality assurance checks and site inspections
• Maintain and audit internal management systems
• Review drawings and issue RFIs
• Assist with site survey and set out
• Compile site costings and assist budgets

What You’ll Do:

As a Graduate Civil Engineer, you will work closely with experienced Project Managers and Engineers who will mentor and support your development.

Work Schedule:

• 5 days on / 2 days off
• 10 days on / 4 days off
  • Work Monday to Friday regionally, travel back to Sydney for weekends in provided vehicle
  • Saturday work require sporadically depending on project timelines

Please be prepared to work regionally each week travelling to and from Sydney.
