Job summary

McKern & Associates on the Gold Coast is seeking a Graduate Accountant who is currently studying accounting or finance, or a recent graduate, to kick-start a public-practice career. We will support your CA/CPA journey with paid course fees and study leave, and provide on-the-job training from day one.

You will assist with tax returns, BAS, and financial statements, and help prepare management reports for clients while learning from experienced Client Managers.

Qualifications

• Currently studying or recently completed a degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Genuinely interested in a career in public practice.
• Able to juggle multiple tasks with efficiency.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of tax returns, BAS, and financial statements.
• Help prepare management reports for clients.
• Conduct research to support advice and decision-making.
• Contribute to taxation planning.
• Work closely with Client Managers and liaise with the ATO and other government bodies on client matters.
