Overview

Nyrstar is a leading multi-metals processing company based in Port Pirie, South Australia, committed to sustainable and responsible operations in the mining and metal production industry. This is a 2 year limited-tenure role on a Monday–Friday roster. The role is designed for a recent accounting graduate to gain exposure to real-world finance in a complex, global business.

Nyrstar Australia is seeking a motivated Graduate Financial Accountant to join our Finance Team and grow into a key contributor to our operations.

What you'll do

• Assist with month-end close, including preparation and posting of journals.
• Help prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Support the coordination of external audits, including gathering required information and assisting with financial statements.
• Perform financial analysis and reporting as required.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and processes.
• Provide accounting support and advice to internal stakeholders.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting (or near completion).
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Good problem-solving skills and a proactive approach.
• Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal.
• Ability to manage time and work independently when required.
• Familiarity with accounting systems (SAP experience an advantage).
• Desire to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
• Learn from experienced accountants in a supportive team environment.
• Gain exposure to industrial operations and global finance processes.
