Job summary

RSEA Safety is seeking a motivated Graduate Accountant to join the Finance team in Glen Iris. The role provides hands-on exposure across accounting functions, starting in transactional work and expanding into financial reporting and month-end activities.

Reporting to the Group Accountant and Finance Manager, you will build your knowledge of the business, systems and processes while developing skills in BAS preparation, reconciliations, and intercompany transactions.

Qualifications

• Recently completed or nearing completion of a degree in Accounting, Commerce or Business.
• Intermediate Excel skills including VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP and PivotTables.
• Willingness to build a solid foundation in transactional accounting before progressing to broader duties.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable and banking activities.
• Process invoices, payments and financial transactions.
• Prepare bank and account reconciliations.
• Assist with month-end journals, including accruals and provisions.
• Support balance sheet reconciliations and monthly financial reporting.

The Role

An opportunity has become available for a motivated and detail-focused Graduate Accountant to join our Finance team in Glen Iris.

Reporting to the Group Accountant and working closely with the Finance Manager, this role will provide hands-on exposure across the finance function, initially building a strong foundation in transactional accounting, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and banking activities.

As you develop your understanding of the business, systems and processes, you'll have the opportunity to progressively take on broader accounting responsibilities, including financial reporting, reconciliations and month-end activities.

This is an ideal opportunity for a recent accounting graduate looking to build practical experience within an established finance team, with opportunities for ongoing learning and career development.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting day-to-day Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and banking activities
• Processing invoices, payments and financial transactions
• Preparing bank and account reconciliations
• Assisting with month-end journals, including accruals and provisions
• Supporting balance sheet reconciliations and monthly financial reporting
• Maintaining accurate financial records and investigating discrepancies
• Assisting with intercompany transactions and fixed asset accounting
• Supporting compliance requirements, including BAS preparation
• Assisting with stock recosting and financial data accuracy
• Contributing to process improvement initiatives across the finance team

About You

• Recently completed or nearing completion of a degree in Accounting, Commerce or Business
• Proactive and energetic, with a genuine desire to learn and develop
• Intermediate Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs/XLOOKUPs and PivotTables
• Strong attention to detail and analytical capability
• Clear communication skills and a collaborative approach
• Willingness to build a solid foundation in transactional accounting before progressing into broader accounting responsibilities
• Experience with Pronto ERP is desirable but not essential
• Previous accounting experience is welcomed but not required
