Job summary

St Vincent’s Private Hospital Melbourne is seeking a Grade 2 Physiotherapist for the acute Physiotherapy department at the East Melbourne campus. This permanent part-time role is 3–4 days per week (including Saturdays) and focuses on high quality, patient-centred orthopaedic care.

You will work with a skilled team to support junior staff, participate in quality improvement projects and help shape acute Physiotherapy management.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years post graduate physiotherapy experience.
• Primarily orthopaedic caseload experience.
• Ability to prioritise workload and manage multiple tasks.
• Safe and effective discharge planning.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and education.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centred physiotherapy care for predominantly orthopaedic cases.
• Supervise junior staff and students as part of the department.
• Participate in quality improvement projects within the unit.
• Contribute to acute physiotherapy management within the hospital.

ABOUT YOUR NEW ROLE

In this exciting opportunity you will join the St Vincent’s Private Hospital Melbourne (SVPHM) team as a Grade 2 Physiotherapist in our acute Physiotherapy department at the East Melbourne campus. This role is permanent part-time position 3-4 days per week (negotiable) & will include Saturday.

In this role you will bring your passion & expertise where you will work with a dedicated team of experienced Physiotherapist's to support the service provision of excellent patient-centred care for a mostly orthopaedic clinical caseload. The role includes some non-clinical opportunities, such as supervision of junior staff and students, participation in department's quality improvement projects & as a contributor on matters relating to acute Physiotherapy management within the hospital.

ABOUT YOU:

As an outstanding Grade 2 Physiotherapist, you are a competent team member in orthopaedic clinical practice & able to deliver safe, high-quality patient-centred care. You have highly developed interpersonal skills, are a capable problem solver with ability to work flexibly within a team & prioritise competing tasks in a timely manner. You are enthusiastic, dedicated, adaptable and friendly with a philosophy of continual improvement and evidence based practice.

Your skills will include:

• Minimum of 4 years post graduate physiotherapy experience
• Effective management of a mostly orthopaedic clinical caseload
• Prioritisation and workload allocation
• Safe and effective discharge planning
• Demonstrated commitment to development and continuing education
• Ability to communicate and work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment
