Job summary

Grampians Health is seeking a part-time GP Liaison Officer to support the SEM trial across the Grampians region. The role coordinates trainee placements, supports recruitment and onboarding, and manages program administration within the Medical Workforce Unit Recruitment team.

Key responsibilities include stakeholder engagement, records management, and liaison with governing bodies, with a focus on rural healthcare training and workforce initiatives in Victoria.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting medical workforce programs, training pathways or health workforce initiatives
• Experience working within, or in partnership with, Victorian public health services
• Demonstrated stakeholder engagement and relationship skills
• Strong organisational and time management abilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment

Responsibilities

• Coordinate Rural Generalist trainee placements across participating GP practices and partner health services
• Build and maintain strong relationships with trainees, primary care providers and key stakeholders
• Support recruitment, onboarding and placement administration activities
• Manage agreements, invoicing and associated program documentation
• Maintain accurate records, reporting and financial reconciliation processes
• Monitor program compliance, risks and continuous improvement initiatives
• Liaise with RACGP, ACRRM, the Victorian Rural Generalist Program and the Department of Health
• Support medical recruitment team activities during peak recruitment periods

GP Liaison Officer - Medical Workforce Unit

Grade 2 (HS2) $35.14 per hour
Part-time Fixed term until December 2028
Location: Horsham

About the Role

The GP Liaison Officer plays a pivotal role in supporting the delivery of the Single Employer Model (SEM) trial across the Grampians region.

Working within the Medical Workforce Unit Recruitment team, you will act as the key point of contact between Grampians Health, Rural Generalist trainees, GP practices, partner health services, training colleges and government stakeholders. You will coordinate trainee placements, support recruitment and onboarding activities, manage program administration, and help ensure the successful delivery of this innovative workforce initiative.

As a valued member of the Medical Workforce Unit, you will also contribute to broader medical workforce initiatives and provide support to the team during peak medical recruitment periods, particularly the annual Grampians Health junior medical workforce recruitment campaigns. This offers a unique opportunity to gain exposure to medical workforce operations across both primary care and hospital-based training environments.
