About the Role

The Governance Manager – Compliance Lead is responsible for overseeing and maintaining ANZ Staff Super’s compliance management framework to ensure adherence to regulatory obligations and reporting on compliance status to senior management. This role seeks to ensure that ANZ Staff Super operates within the legislative and regulatory framework set by APRA, ASIC, and other regulatory bodies while fostering a strong compliance culture.

Work Hours: Full time, 40 hrs/week

What will your day look like?

As a Governance Manager - Compliance Lead, you will:

  • Ensure compliance with superannuation laws and APRA/ASIC standards.
  • Monitor regulatory and advise senior management.

Regulatory Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure compliance with superannuation laws and APRA/ASIC standards.
  • Monitor regulatory and advise senior management.

Risk & Compliance Framework Management

  • Implement the compliance framework.
  • Review service provider compliance reports and escalate issues.
  • Provide compliance assessments to the Board and committees.
  • Prepare and present compliance reports.
  • Advise on regulatory requirements and emerging compliance risks.

Incident & Breach Management

  • Support incident handling and breach.
  • Maintain breach register and assist with notifications.

Stakeholder Engagement & Culture

  • Partner with internal teams to embed compliance in operations.
  • Promote a strong compliance culture on member outcomes & experience.
What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

  • In-depth knowledge of the compliance obligations of Australian superannuation trustees and funds.
  • Experience with managing compliance obligations for an APRA regulated superannuation fund with both insourced and outsourced business operations.
  • Strong analytical skills to develop compliance strategies.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage at board, committee and senior management levels.
  • Experience in supporting compliance management frameworks.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic regulatory environment.
