Job summary

Moree Plains Shire Council invites applications for a Governance Coordinator to provide high‑level support to the Director of Corporate and Community and the Manager Legal & Governance. You will help the Council promote best practice governance across the organisation with a detail‑oriented and collaborative approach.

Your responsibilities include leading and reviewing Council policies and procedures, maintaining the delegation register, and ensuring compliance with authority delegation

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent experience in Business Administration, Risk Management, Law, or a similar field.
• Experience interpreting and applying legislation.
• Experience reviewing transaction documents (i.e. contracts and deeds).
• Experience in high level customer service including dealing with highly confidential and/or sensitive information, preparation of complex correspondence and complaint management.

Responsibilities

• Lead and review Council policies and procedures.
• Maintain the delegation register and ensure authority delegation compliance.
• Coordinate delivery of governance systems, schedules and expert advice.
