Job summary

Chandler Macleod is recruiting for an experienced APS6 Audit & Assurance Officer to support governance, risk, audit and business continuity functions within a Federal Government environment. This opportunity focuses on coordinating internal audits, maintaining governance frameworks and contributing to organisational resilience.

You will work with senior stakeholders and governance committees to strengthen performance and compliance, with flexible working arrangements and opportunities across

Qualifications

• Experience in audit, assurance, risk management, governance or compliance within a complex organisation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to identify trends, risks and improvement opportunities.
• Excellent written communication skills, including reports, briefings and executive-level documentation.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage the delivery of internal audits, including planning, stakeholder engagement, audit monitoring and reporting.
• Maintain audit recommendation registers, track management actions and provide timely reporting to leadership and governance committees.
• Manage relationships with internal audit service providers and support assurance, compliance and risk management activities.
• Prepare high-quality reports, briefings and committee papers relating to audit, risk, assurance and business continuity.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of governance, risk and assurance frameworks, policies and processes.
• Support business continuity planning, testing activities and organisational resilience initiatives.
• Coordinate external reviews, risk workshops and assurance activities as required.
