Job summary

u&u Recruitment Partners is partnering with a Queensland Government department to recruit a Communications Officer on an initial project-based engagement through to mid-November.

This is a great opportunity for a communications professional to join a collaborative team, develop clear content, and support strategies across print, digital and social channels. Government experience will be highly regarded.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering communications across multiple channels and audiences.
• Strong writing, editing and proofreading with high attention to detail.
• Ability to simplify complex information for diverse audiences.
• Experience independently delivering communications projects with stakeholders.
• Knowledge of digital and social media channels.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and proactive delivery.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
• Queensland Government experience is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Develop clear content for internal and external audiences across channels.
• Research, write and edit audience-focused communications aligned with brand and government guidelines.
• Translate complex information into clear, accessible communications.
• Plan and deliver communication activities for priority projects with time-critical deadlines.
• Coordinate communications with internal and external stakeholders, including photoshoots and activations.
• Develop key messages and ensure consistency across communication channels.
• Manage competing priorities, provide progress updates and support project briefings.
• Identify and escalation issues that may impact project delivery or departmental reputation.
