The Opportunity

We have an opportunity for a General Manager – Clinical Governance, Clinical & Digital Health Outcomes to join Bupa APAC’s Clinical Governance Team. This newly created role will provide strategic leadership in clinical governance, medical assurance, and digital health outcomes across Bupa’s diverse healthcare portfolio.

With your advanced clinical expertise, you will lead the maturation of clinical governance frameworks, systems and processes relating to an expanding medical workforce and partner with business units to ensure safe, high-quality care delivery. You will also play a key role in evaluating new healthcare propositions and shaping the future of digital health at Bupa.

This position reports to the Chief Medical Officer and is offered as permanent, full-time hours based at our Melbourne or Sydney offices with flexible, hybrid work arrangements available.

How will you make an impact?

In this role, you will make a meaningful impact by shaping the future of clinical governance and digital health outcomes across Bupa’s healthcare services. Your leadership will ensure safe, high-quality care delivery and drive innovation in clinical systems and data governance.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Leading the development and implementation of clinical governance frameworks, policies, and assurance programs in partnership with business units across APAC (AUS, NZ, Hong Kong).
  • Providing expert medical workforce advice on credentialing, professional performance, and regulatory compliance.
  • Supporting the evaluation and implementation of new healthcare propositions, including virtual care, genomics, and corporate wellness.
  • Advising on clinical data governance, interoperability, and digital health platform design.
  • Leading the maturation of Bupa APAC’s healthcare outcomes measurement systems
  • Preparing and presenting reports to governance bodies including the APAC Clinical Governance Committee, Executive Risk Committee, and ANZ Board Risk Committee.
  • Supporting organisational learning and capability building through coaching and education.
About You

The ideal candidate is a strategic medical leader with deep expertise in clinical governance, health informatics, and stakeholder engagement. You thrive in complex environments and have proven success implementing clinical governance programs across a range of healthcare settings, including virtual care.

To be successful, you will bring:
  • A medical degree with current unconditional and unrestricted AHPRA registration.
  • Postgraduate qualifications in clinical governance, health services management, or health informatics (e.g. FRACMA, FRACGP highly desirable).
  • Extensive experience in clinical governance and healthcare administration within complex environments.
  • Strong understanding of relevant regulatory frameworks including digital health, technology, and therapeutics.
  • Proven ability to lead strategic programs and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Advanced analytical skills and experience in clinical data interpretation.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and capability building.
